ATK High Performance Chevy Gen V 489/496 short blocks deliver a bulletproof bottom end that is perfect for your potent street or race build. These are later model Gen V blocks featuring top-of-the-line Scat forged stroker kits (no provisions for mechanical fuel pumps). They include clocked camshaft bearings set to the OEM position, plus installed/sealed freeze plugs and oil galley plugs. You wouldn’t build a house on sand, so don’t start your big block Chevy build with anything less than ATK High Performance Chevy Gen V 489/496 short blocks.
